May 30, 2008: Two Months Later....

Yeah so I tried to do the whole Wordpress Comic gallery thingy... and i have to say that I fail hard at it. Seems like the only thing i can really do is in Dreamweaver. That's okay for the most part since I am pretty good at this program for doing basic stuff. Yeah it's in HTML and all but untill i can sit down and learn stuff hardcore I'll be kind of SOL on it. The comic pages for the OMR comic are coming along nicley. I just need to come up with a cool comic banner.... that seems to be dragging along to. However I do have a sweet set up forthe cover, heck I guess I should at least post that first. :) Sorry for being such a slacker everybody I'll be kicking more butt soon enough. :D

Later!

March 27, 2008: The State of Comics

Well I'm sure a lot of you guys heard about the Spider-Man crap because of the the guy who's running Marvel, Joe Quesada, where he broke up Peter and M.J. because he was against the marriage that they had in the comics dating back to the 88' or might be early 80's. The comic that showed us nerds everywhere that "Hey, you can met the person of your dreams if you be yourself" hell this same guy banned smoking in Marvel comics by the heroes because of a personal tragedy and i pretty much dictating stuff because of his own personal beliefs too. Now if he was writing his own book that lasted more then a hand full of issues, then i could see him doing that stuff with just a title alone. However we have one man dictating the Marvel Universe. He wanted the marrage to end because he said "oh hey, spiderman works best alone so he can be a screw-up, live in his aunts house again and ride a bike to work because he can't afford anything anymore!" yeah that's going to make him look like a real role model buddy.
On top of all that he made two other alternate worlds when he became editor in chief, and Made Ultimate Spiderman (note: Where he is a teenage and single and the book was aimed at teens ) and Spider-Girl (to show peter parker grown up and having a daughter who takes his mantle) so he decided that if people want to see an older spider-man then they need to read Spider-Girl... but said nothing about Ultimate Spider-man.
Ugh... he pisses me off, and as somebody who started off reading Marvel books this random crap along with him Killing off Captain America because young readers can't connected with the idea of who he is. (somebody standing for an idea that really isn't seen in the world as much and a character that was supposed to represent the best aspects of humanity)
It made me realize why i haven't dropped any money on my favorite characters anymore, and opted to read Manga more... because at this point it seems that the Manga artists actually respect their readers and characters! They pour their passion and soul into the books without having to stick to some "rules of a universe" and them all being dictated by one man. It's another reason why Webcomics are starting to make a huge impact too. I know people who work on marvel books work their asses off in trying to put out the best they can, but it hurts to see these character get a raw deal.
In a lot of Manga that i noticed when the Run is done, and fans want more of that character, they either do a new story, a reboot of the character and their world, or they even use a son or daughter to continue it. Hell they even go back to a character's youth. One Manga that ended up getting treated like a Marvel book was Dragon Ball.. it started off as some crazy monkey boy, with a lot of comedy and action... ad then later turned to a space sci-fi action fantasy. Crazy plots twits were added once the original creator's character became super popular.. because the fans wanted more... but it drug out the story too long. That was when they should have move on with a new character or just continued with Gohan being the lead hero.
JoJo's Bizzar adventure is a great example of using genterations of a character to progress the story, and so that way a character can have a dramatic change, but it's okay since it is the child or the hero from past issues but can still hold the same ideas since he's the child of them.
Dunno if any of this really makes sense...
but what i'm trying to say is that Marvel has lost their way, and they need to get back to the core of the characters and let somebody do a run on each title for more then a few issues. It'd be nice if they did it that way.
For now I'll stick indy comics and manga till my old school heroes get the respect they deserve and writters and editors who think "Oh HAY my IDEAZ R GolDZ!" wise up.
My bad-
Shado

March 25, 2008: Getting Things Done

Yeah, I know it's a lame entry for the first entry in my blog but what the hey. So if you're reading this that flippin rocks. This whole project is a huge undertaking for me, since I really don't build webpages a whole ton and can't really do anything amazing with CSS or actions or the like. ah well :D
With this site i'm working my hardest to get it ready for my web comic that I know a lot of people ahve been waiting forever for me to finish. Sorry it's taken so long. I just never felt was ready for it and I kind of let others hold me back with pushing forwards with the whole thing. I managed to take the needed steps to push myself including entering some comic battles that helped me get better in a years time to what i was before. So any artist out there reading this, try enterng a few, it really helps and you'll get some cool feedback, and learn a trick or two about getting your speed up when it comes to making comics.

This Image sums up My friends and I when doing art and how working together as a group/team can pay off and be a lot of fun.

Hellz Yeah!
